Pennsylvania State League -- 1901 Start/End Dates: 6/8 6/18 President: Alfred W. Lawson Final Standings
* Allentown and Middletown were dropped from the Pennsylvania State League on 6/16 **Pottsville dropped out of the Penn State League before it reorganized in June @Lancaster and Harrisburg joined the State League after the Tri-County League failed at the end of May. Lebanon club of the Tri-County League was transferred to Middletown in the new Pennsylvania State League. Notes: From 5/4 to 5/31, the Pennsylvania State League was limited to Reading, Easton, Allentown, and Pottsville. Their league schedule was unpublished and not extensive; it may be that they were improvising the schedule to fit between their other games with independent teams, college teams, and barnstorming teams. No League standings for this period have come to light. Likely, each team played only 2-3 League games in that period and existed primarily as independent clubs. When the Pennsylvania State League was reorganized in June, it followed a published schedule and standings were regularly printed. Sources: Philadelphia Inquirer, June 4; June 18 Rosters: Easton
