Textbook of Naval
Aeronautics (1917) by Henry Woodhouse The complete text in pdf format of Woodhouses' first text; many chapters were contributed by U.S. naval officers, although the publication of this text caused some controversy. Published just as the U.S. entered WWI, the text contained detailed descriptions of Allied aeronautical practices and capabilities, including photos of installations. Woodhouse received unpleasant visits from War Department investigators as a result, but likely escaped consequences because of the involvement in the publication of so many active duty officers.
